Flamenco Workshops Workshops can be conducted in English, French, Spanish or Portuguese
While living in Madrid she undertook an intensive study program at the Academia Amor de Dios with Spain's most revered master instructors. These included Ciro, Merche Esmerelda, Carmen Mora, Maria Magdelena, Pablo Rodarte, La Tati, Cintia Serva, Guito and Manolete Amaya. Upon her return to Canada in 1984, Joselina pioneered the growth of Flamenco in Vancouver, British Columbia. As performer, teacher and co-producer of Mozaico Flamenco, she established a very successful partnership with Oscar Nieto. Their many credits included television performances, documentaries, and promotional campaigns for the Spanish Consulate, as well as collaborative performances with Dance in Canada. Joselina then returned
to Europe in 1986 where she established a base in Brussels, Belgium.
Between tours throughout Europe, the Far East, New Zealand and
Australia, she continued to expand the boundaries of this dramatic art
form through intensive studies in Spain with Eva "La YerbaBuena",
Manolo Marin, Matilde Coral, Ana Maria Lopez, Antonio Marquez, Antonio
"el Pipa" and Maria Bermudez. Joselina then relocated to Calgary, Alberta to work as an instructor of massage therapy at Mount Royal College for several years. During this time, she also established a very successful career as a performer, instructor and choreographer of Flamenco for her company "Alma Gitana". During this time she continued to study with artists such as Carmen Romero, Sabas, Maria Temo and Manuel Guiterez during workshops and festivals in Canada. Her love for and dedication to this passionate and demanding art form is primarily responsible for her move to Montreal "the hotbed of flamenco in Canada", during the fall of 2004. In order to explore new boundaries of Flamenco Fusion, Joselina draws upon more than 35 years of experience as an artist and instructor of Flamenco, Oriental, Jazz, Latin and African/Brazilian dance forms.
