Acapulco 2005 “Perfection in Paradise”
was a dream come true this year.
Here is a review from Brenda.
In order to accommodate a few more sun and
dance worshipers and to guarantee their optimal
independence and relaxation during our time together, all
meals and excursions will be “a la carte”.
This also means greater  savings to you!
(Note, each suite contains a full kitchen). We are also planning to include a performance with
Hadia and retreat participants in the Brand new, state of
the art Mayan Palace Center for the Performing Arts for
Dec. 2006.

de l’improvisation » avec Hadia et Joe Nachef! Ces ateliers étaient complets des semaines à l’avance et
toutes les participantes ont apprécié!

We started the year out in great form with Hadia and Joe Nachef’s Art of Improvisation Workshop.
This long awaited workshop was sold out weeks in
advance and was a huge hit with the students. Comments and a full review are promised for the next Muz Nuz!

As a long time adventurer of our marvelous
planet and its fascinating people, Cuba has been on my
list of must places to go.
However, with beaches aplenty the world over, it
has always been the incredible music and dance of the
Cuban people that pulled at my heart strings and inspired
my hips and toes. Finally
time and occasion coincided and I was off for a 2 week
residency of dancing, drumming singing and saturation in
Cuban culture with the National Folkloric Company. Stayed tuned for our next Nuz for my reflections and photos
of Cuba.
 So
DO NOT miss the fun and the chance to try out some of the
oh-so-sensual moves and attitudes of real Cuban style
salsa, guaguanco and mambo all wrapped up in a wild and
whacky Cuban/Lebanese “Salsariental” with yours truly.
This will just be a part of the weekend with Maya
Gaorry, my Brazilian oriental dance guest instructor from
Italy as she presents her “Sambaladi”. We will also
give you a good workout with shimmy and hip articulation
techniques from two perspectives.
Our ”Soiree Arabalatina” will
definitely be an adventure.!

Training Reaches a New Level!! Get Ready!! Hadia is also
pleased to announce her first Teacher Training combined
Level 2/3 Course will be offered August 2006 in Victoria,
B.C. She has listened to the feedback and has decided to
divide the programme into three components, Levels 1, 2
& 3, thereby making Teacher Training more accessible,
digestible and now with accredited certification.
So
August 2006 she is offering a 30 hour transitional Levels
2 and 3 course. Accredited Certification will be awarded
to students who successfully complete Level 3, by
demonstrating satisfactory understanding of oriental dance
skills and technique, rhythm and musical understanding,
finger cymbal skills, basic anatomy and its application to
oriental dance and injury prevention, teaching and
communication skills, class and course planning, and
professional ethics. Prerequisite - Level 1 is
required.

Formation de Professeurs
Je
suis très heureuse d'annoncer la première
"Formation de Professeurs en Danse Orientale "
Volets 2 et 3 pour le moi d'Août, 2006. Apres avoir
écouter les commentaires des séances precedantes, je
décider de transformer les cours en trois volets au lieu
de deux, a fin de rendre la grande volume de matérielle
plus accessible et moins intensif. Cette année je vais
présenter en 30 heures, un cours combiné des Volets 2 et
3. Les élèves qui assistent les 3 volets et qui montrent
un maîtrise aux techniques, rythmes, compréhension
musicale, cymbales, anatomie essentielle et appliqué a la
danse orientale, prévention des blessures, habilites
acceptable de pédagogie et des communication,
planification des cours et sessions, éthiques
professionnelles seront certifiée.
