Teacher Training - LEVELS 1 & 2
Due
to the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, Hadia's
Level One Teacher Training scheduled for New Orleans in
March will most likely be postponed. I have just found out
that all my friends there are alive and well BUT PLEASE
SEND MONEY, LOVE AND PRAYERS TO THOSE AFFECTED BY THIS
DISASTER.
However, plans are forming for Level One in Calgary/Banff,
as well as Montreal, while we are happy to present the
first Level 2 Certification Course in Victoria, August '06

Le
Volet 1 de la formation de Professeurs en Danse Orientale
ainsi que notre premier Volet 2 sont prévus pour le mois

meets LULU SABONGI 
My
first project for MUZ was to have him meet LULU SABONGI.
MUZ, also a photographer, has captured LULU
in these amazingly great pictures.
This Brazilian True Super Star
is internationally renowned and we are thrilled to host
her on her first North American tour. This brilliant
artist is also a fabulous teacher who has recently been
awarded "Most
Inspirational Instructor 2004"
by the Giza Academy. She has also just returned from
teaching in the Ahlan wa Sahlan Festival in Cairo,
Egypt!
Lulu
is joining us here in Montreal on October 21st and 22nd
and in Ottawa on October 23rd, in performance and
workshops.
Don't miss this very special event, so
register early as class size is limited to a maximum of 35
students.

photographe depuis des années, son premier projet non
administratif a été de capter Lulu, la vraie Super
Star Brésilienne, sur pellicule !
Artiste orientale de renommée internationale, elle nous
rejoint pour les ateliers et spectacles à Montréal le 21
et 22 et à Ottawa le 23 octobre,
pendant sa première tournée en Amérique du Nord.
Lulu est aussi un professeur exceptionnel,
récipiendaire du titre de "Professeur
la Plus Inspirante "
Giza Academy 2004.
Elle revient du Festival Ahlan wa Sahlan au
Caire, Egypte, où ses ateliers ont remporté un très
grand succès.

Montreal - ÉLAN VITAL
I have been absolutely delighted with this
amazing city in the summer! Flamenco workshops from
fabulous Spanish artists, festivals, hot and sunny days,
pools, parks, bike riding which is THE perfect way to
explore and experience the Joie de Vivre of the Montreal
people with their small town unpretentious vitality and
their big city style.
I am still trying to figure out why it took
me so long to move here?? I taught an oriental workshop in
Montreal before heading down to Dallas and the Yahaal
Ya'all Festival to share a phenomenal and fun packed
weekend with some of my very favorite dancer
friends.
I ended the summer with my first bilingual
Teacher Training Level One Course here at home and two
great workshops in Trois Rivieres and Drummondville. This
fall I will continue to enjoy my Flamenco and Indian
classes, as I try my hand (or should I say foot) at
Argentinian Tango.
I am also happy to be offering a special
series of intensive classes for advanced and professional
level dancers in Egyptian Oriental as well as folklore,
baladi, Turkish ROM and rhythms with dance, cymbals and
live percussionist. With 6.5 hours - 3 classes per week,
all classes are sold out. I can't think of a better
balance for a fabulous fall!
Après mon retour je suis complètement tombée sous le
charme de cette ville pétillante et cosmopolite, qu'est
Montréal en été !
Les
Festivals continuels, ainsi que celui de flamenco avec ses
artistes venus directement d'Espagne, les parcs, les
piscines, les jours ensoleillés, les petits marchés, les
cafés bourrés et les vélos (évidemment le meilleur
moyen d'explorer la ville et d'expérimenter la Joie de
Vivre de ses habitants). Je me demande pourquoi j'ai
attendu si longtemps avant de les rejoindre ici.
Puis,
j'ai passé le week-end au Festival Yahall Ya'all à
Dallas, avec plusieurs de mes meilleures amies de la danse
- on s'est inspirées et amusées pendant les 4 jours que
duraient les ateliers et spectacles. De retour chez moi,
j'ai donné ma première formation de profs bilingue ! et
2 ateliers amusants a Trois Rivières et Drummondville.
Pour l'automne, je suis très heureuse de
pouvoir rester chez moi et d'offrir un session de cours
intensifs de danse orientale égyptienne, baladi,
folklore, rythmes orientaux et ROM Turc, en même temps
que je suis mes cours de flamenco, tango argentin et danse
indienne. Quel bel équilibre !
